Moving Into a New Home: 7 Must-Have Appliances

When you’re in the market for a new home, typically the main things that you’re looking for is an affordable home that is in a safe neighborhood, has a nice backyard, plenty of space and definitely more than one bathroom. However, in order for you to be able to take care of everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning, you’re also going to need to have some appliances too.

That’s why, over the course of the next few minutes, we are going to share with you seven must-have appliances that every new house should have. Check these out below:

Refrigerator. There used to be a time when, if people wanted to keep their food cool, they had to put it in an ice box that was in a place separate from their house. Thankfully, someone invented the refrigerator. Now all we have to do now is walk into our kitchen in order to get the produce (or even ice cream in the attached freezer) that we need. Refrigerators even come in a variety of styles from top or bottom freezer refrigerators to ones that French doors and beverage dispensers attached. You can also get them in stainless steel or in colors like white or black.

Stove. Can you imagine what it would be like if we had to solely rely on our fireplaces to cook our food? Thanks to stoves, that is not required. In fact, you can even choose between ones that are operated by gas and ones that are electric. If you’re someone who happens to be eco-friendly and you’d like to know which kind of stove is more energy efficient, while both gas and electric stoves tend to cost the same amount, according to many energy experts, gas is far more efficient.

Microwave. If you want to pop some popcorn during a commercial or you’d like to warm up a cup of tea in a matter of a few seconds, a microwave can help you to do just that. The really great thing about them is that you can purchase a portable one, a countertop one or even one that you can install over your range. Just make sure that you treat it as an addition to your stove. There’s still something about a home-cooked meal that tastes great when it wasn’t made solely by a microwave oven.

Dishwasher. A lot of us grew up not really wanting to wash dishes by hand. Thankfully, a dishwasher was invented to do the job for us. You can also find these in a variety of sizes and colors and, there are currently some big trends in dishwashers. For instance, GE has one that comes with a bottle washing component and Whirlpool has one that actually connects to your WiFi so that you can operate it from anywhere in your home.

Washer/Dryer unit. If you’ve ever had to take your clothes to the laundry mat, then you already know how much easier it is to have a washer and dryer in your home. We must admit that our favorite at the all-in-one (or stacked) kind. They take up less space and they tend to require less energy too; especially if you purchase one that has an Energy Star label on it.

Trash compactor. If you were to ask Premier Appliance about some of the kitchen appliances that are an absolute must-have, we’re certain that one of the things that they would mention is a trash compactor. They are a great way to recycle your waste, they don’t take up a lot of space and they require very little maintenance.

Indoor grill. And finally, it can work into your favor, big time, if you have an indoor grill; especially if you live in a climate that is cool most of the year. Grills are a healthier way to prepare food; since they are inside, it makes grilling more convenient and being that they are smaller than most outdoor grills, they help you to cook (and eat) smaller portions. They are an appliance that can easily make your kitchen complete.
